Extraordinary, Janet.

This came to my mind:

My life inside has deepened, entire violins violated. I am whole, on fire, I have backbone.

This is formally striking and aesthetically pleasing. The colors are brimming with meaning.

The figure reminds me of that strident, disconcerting puppet in the Brothers Quay film *The Street of Crocodiles*. Though this figure seems more abashed than demonic.

I forgot to mention the backbone -- how that construct is so necessary. Not because of the title, but in how it weaves all the space and forms together...holds them in gravitational and pictorial balance.

Nanette, that's beautiful!

I'm glad you like this, Tim. I've never seen The Street of Crocodiles" but now I will.

I've been on a Tom Waits kick lately, and this image came to me while I was listening to Alice. "The worm crawling up the rugged ladder of your spine" stuck with me.
