Head with Red Wing

Colors ran inside me.
I could not spit them out.

They exhausted me
and when they let me sleep
it was a sleep lit by nightmares,
a key unmoving in a frozen lock.

It would be years before
the key clicked open
on an image of what my life had been.

I should have listened to my colors,
the red beating of their wings.

I enjoyed the painting so much.. specially after my heightened senses that have been recently exposed to Klimt, Schiele and Dali among others in my recent tour to Vienna on my business trip to Europe first week of this month...
A beautiful verse that goes hand in hand with a lovely painting.. I enjoyed it a lot...
thanks for sharing such a wonderful duet..

Thanks, Shashi. One of our friends suggested we name it Ganda Berunda.
